Gold Prospecting During the night

Gold prospecting during the night, now that's something you do not see everyday....ok, ok, not funny!! But it's something which we did last May because of the heat throughout the day.

I was in AZ for Seven days coupled with to create probably the most from it and that i must say for that better area of the week the elements cooperated all right it had been mid to high nineties the majority of the week and being from North park...this is a bit hot, but i was expecting hotter therefore the mid nineties would be a welcomed sacrifice.

We chose to rest on among the days and check out our luck at crack vac-ing when the sun transpired so around 8pm we headed for any excellent looking ravine with multiple areas which were very close to bedrock, the ravine was very steep in spots too, therefore it would be a small challenge to hike our gear, cameras, lanterns and the like to some spot that looked to get affordable to pass through up. After many tries to light the lanterns inside a small wind... we settled for 2 from three lanterns along with a handful of headlamps for light to utilize.

This particular ravine had many, many shallow spots with without any overburden so within the spot we chose at the end of the 6 to 8 foot drop-off there wasn't much to complete except have a whisk broom and sweep from the light brush and cactus needles in the surface before i was in a position to turn on the now infamous pile of junk we call a crack-vac which has failed us more times of computer actually worked, yet here i am within the dead of night twenty miles from civilization once more wondering whether it will start or otherwise and why the heck we've not gotten a replacement yet.

Because the motor sputtered and popped before reluctantly visiting life since it's done often before we new i was on the time period limit before thing conked out, therefore we nailed onto it.. sucking up two pockets of dirt that were held in the shallow holes. So with Scotty manning the recording camera, Bucket working the nozzle and Boomer attempting to keep the motor running, limited light along with a fair breeze whisking in the ravine designed for sub-standard conditions to utilize however the pockets were small, roughly 1-2 sq . ft . across and were easily sucked in to the nozzle, about 1/2 way with the second pocket wedged inside a crack would be a real beauty!! Just a slave to awaiting three kooks having a crack-vac along with a camera to find and collect it...whodathunkit!

So there i was in amazement over our fortune once the crack-vac decided its had enough and conked on us, i was inside a frenzy to have it started therefore we perform another spots while our luck was good! But in the end did get it opting for short amounts of time, it finally died permanently. Therefore we packed up and hiked to the buggy, overall pretty happy concerning the experience, right now it had been roughly 1am therefore we hopped within the buggy and needed to attempt the hour long term to the home i was staying in but there is one further problem....the buggy wouldn't start!....The next time we'll go through how to proceed whenever your equipment doesn't start, to wrap this up lets just state that gold prospecting during the night takes just as much preparation because it does throughout the day and more! We'll sooner or later try it again and can come better prepared....the next time!
